AssetDropper makes vehicle depreciation transparent and actionable. We help car buyers, sellers, and owners understand how vehicles lose value over time with instant calculations and interactive visualizations.

Why We Built This

Vehicle depreciation is one of the largest costs of car ownership, yet most people don't understand how it works. We built AssetDropper to:

• Make depreciation calculations instant and visual
• Provide accurate, make/model-specific data
• Help buyers make informed purchasing decisions
• Show which vehicles hold value best over time
• Offer a privacy-first tool with no data collection

Our Methodology

Our depreciation calculations are based on:

• Industry-standard rates from automotive research organizations
• Historical data from used car markets and auction prices
• Vehicle segment analysis (luxury, economy, trucks, etc.)
• Mileage factors adjusted for typical usage patterns

Note: All calculations are estimates. Actual depreciation varies based on market conditions, vehicle condition, maintenance history, location, and many other factors.

Privacy-First Design

Unlike most online tools, AssetDropper:

• Performs all calculations client-side in your browser
• Stores saved vehicles locally using IndexedDB
• Doesn't collect or transmit your data to our servers
• Requires no accounts, passwords, or authentication
• Uses privacy-friendly analytics (Ahrefs) without cookies

AssetDropper is free to use with no premium tiers or paywalls. Our goal is to make vehicle depreciation information accessible to everyone.
